Overview of Curriculum
Asanas - Standing Poses, Twists, Backbends, Forward Bends, Balances, Hip Openers, Inversions and Restorative, all with correct warm ups.
Effective sequencing of postures as they relate to a Vinyasa Yoga class.
Ujjayi, Dirgha, Nadi Shodhana and Khapalabati
Principles of Demonstration
Anatomy & Physiology
Understand the functioning of the muscular-skeletal system
Biochemical benefits of practicing Yoga
Principle elements of posture mechanics
Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics
The study of Yoga philosophy
Study of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras Books 1 & 2
Observing others teaching
Assisting students while someone else is teaching
Take a minimum of 3 yoga classes per week.
Observe classes with write ups
Keep a Daily Sadhana Journal
Teach a complete Vinyasa class that includes:
Heart Oriented Theme
Intelligent class design/sequencing
Guided Savasana and Meditation
Student/Self as Demo
Written assignments to be completed on time.
Know Sanskrit names of the postures taught.
Final written test
